Book Beginnings On Friday (1)

Friday, April 23, 2010

Book Beginnings on Friday is a meme hosted by Becky at Page Turners. Anyone can participate; just share the opening sentence of your current read, making sure that you include the title and author so others know what you're reading.

Page 1, Sentence 1 of Shanghai Girls by Lisa See :

"Our daughter looks like a South China peasant with those red cheeks", my father complains, pointedly ignoring the soup before him. "Can't you do something about them?".

How did your current read begin? :)
