Bleeding Violet Review:

Bleeding Violet

This is the story of Hanna Järvinen a girl who suffers from hallucinations and some other mental illnesses, she wears only purple and still have conversations with her dead father. Hanna arrives to the twisted town of Portero in search of her Mother whom, by the way, abandoned her since she was a little baby. Portero’s days are all about weird events and dark enigmas, Hanna will have to prove to everyone that she arrived in order to stay, no matter what the consequences are.

Bleeding Violet also has its romantic side. Hanna’s relationship with Wyatt, a local, gives the book a seductive and steamy side.

Dia Reeves made an excellent job writing and developing the story and its characters, it really keeps you attached to the book until the end, I would recommend this book but not to everyone, on my personal point of view, older teens or adults are the target audience for this book due to its fair amount of sexual dialogue and profanity content. If you are comfortable with that kind of content the book will embark you in an amazing reading endeavor.

Scones and Sensibility Review:

Scones and Sensibility

Polly Madassa is convinced she was born for a more romantic time. A time when Elizabeth Bennet and Anne of Green Gables walked along the moors and beaches of the beautiful land, a time where a distinguished gentleman called upon a lady of quality and true love was born in the locked eyes of two young lovers.

But alas, she was not.
This, however, does not stop our young heroine from finding romance wherever she can conjure it up. So while Polly is burdened with a summer job of delivering baked goods from her parents bakery (how quaint!) to the people in her small beach town, she finds a way to force…um…encourage romance to blossom. She is determined to bring lovers, young and old, together…whether they want to be or not.

My Thoughts:

12 year old Polly Madassa is obsessed with Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, she truly believes life is like in Jane Austen novels or Anne of Green Gables, so when her parents, owners of the local bakery, set her up for a summer job in which she have to deliver baked goods to local customers she, as a hopeless romantic, starts a project as a Matchmaker, thus starts interfering in the lives of others, Polly’s real problem is her lack of listening to others, as the story develops things doesn’t go according to her plan.

Polly narrates her story in first person and in an old fashioned flowery language. Sometimes the situations Polly triggered where a little annoying and I found my self wanting to shake Polly and tell her to Wake up. After some ups and downs Polly finally notice love in real life is different form a book.

This is a Cute, fluffy and light read.
