Whip-smart, hardworking, and on her way to an MBA, Chloe Mills has only one problem: her boss, Bennett Ryan. He's exacting, blunt, inconsiderate—and completely irresistible. A Beautiful Bastard.
Bennett has returned to Chicago from France to take a vital role in his family's massive media business. He never expected that the assistant who'd been helping him from abroad was the gorgeous, innocently provocative—completely infuriating—creature he now has to see every day. Despite the rumors, he's never been one for a workplace hookup. But Chloe's so tempting he's willing to bend the rules—or outright smash them—if it means he can have her. All over the office.
As their appetites for one another increase to a breaking point, Bennett and Chloe must decide exactly what they're willing to lose in order to win each other.
Beautiful Bastard is one of those books that catch my attention because of all the hype and at the end left me feeling a little disappointed. I don’t have a lot to say about this one, when I read the blurb I saw potential for a great plot, but once I started reading I couldn’t find it, everything started great with Bennett being a beautiful but infuriating boss to Chloe who is your sexy and smart intern, the problem is that every chapter was full of pointless sex scenes.

I’ve recently started reading many genres like new adult and adult fiction; I enjoy the sex scenes as much as the romance and conflict, but I like to see a reason behind it all, we don’t get to read anything apart from those steamy scenes until the last part of the book.

The reason I’m giving this book two stars is because I was smiling from time to time, the bad part, is that I think those scenes weren’t supposed to made me laugh, I also enjoyed the last chapter because the story was less focused on the sex and more on the relationship.

Overall if you want to read a book that is focused in the sexual scenes, this is the book for you.

New Adult. Mature Content Recommended for ages 17+ due to sexual situations and language.

  1. Haha, I like steamy romance, but only as a side plot line rather than the main one.

  3. Beautiful Bastard sounds like an interesting a story about romance which both people think is a very bad idea. It is unfortunate that it seems like the story is more romance for the sake of romance. Without strong characterization, these kinds of stories really seem to fall flat and are almost pointless to read.

  4. That's crazy sad how this book was ruined for you! I've read a few books too where it's just one sex scene after another, and I find myself skipping ahead to get to the plot and the romance and the characterization.
