Q: I like unique names for characters and am looking forward to coming up with some when I start writing. What's the most unique character name you've come across?
Meriadoc is unique. Respect that you managed to read LOTR because I tried as a kid and failed. :P

Karou is one of the exceptions to my "I don't like weird names" rule. It just fits somehow.

Karou would definitely qualify as one of the most unique names. I personally love Rhine or even Syrenka from Monstrous Beauty.

I think the names from LotR are pretty much classic now, like trade mark. Their originality shines even today. :)
